A graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1975, he established a practice in Washington State in 1976. Then in 1984 settled and opened his practice in the Seattle then Edmonds area. Over his long career he was able to help thousands of people. He requested that his office be kept open with the care provided by Geraldine Bright, BS Applied Science in Osteopathy, a

He is survived by his wife, Christine, and daughter, Elizabeth, both of Edmonds; brother Dr. Hugh A. Schuetz, D.O., and his wife Deborah, of St. James, Missouri; sister-in-law, Nancy Friend of Olympia; three nieces, Chelise McKinney, Cheri Friend and Joelle Friend; and brother-in-law, John Leaf of Federal Way.

I just read this sad notice about Charlie's passing. I know it has been years but his passing has hit hard. He was a good friend and a wonderful doctor. I am so sorry for your loss and wish nothing but the best for you and your daughter.

Dear Chris and Elizabeth,

I am so terribly saddened to hear of Charles' passing. Mom just let me know as I am now in California. Know that he meant a great deal to me as both my physician and one that I could share my thoughts of the day with as well as the conditions of the world. Chris, you and Elizabeth are in my prayers as well as Charlie. I trust he is golfing in a peaceful and blessed place. Much love to the Schuetz family!

Charlie was our Pied Piper in osteopathic school, he would always have a joke, smile , or cold one for you when you were deflated to pick up your spirits. Farewell, kind and gentle soul.

I was so sorry to hear the news just now; a family member was a patient of Dr. Schuetz when she was younger and still at home. I watched Charlie in action many times- such a skilled Dr. and gentle soul. My heart goes out to his dear family.

Dr. Schuetz was a phenomenal doctor and just a great guy. After 8 years of head/neck pain, countless doctors and no relief he helped me more in a year then all those years combined. I will miss him, I always enjoyed my visits. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and daughter.

This is a friend from Kirksville that benefited from Charlie's expertise and longtime friendship from our mother home, Kirksville. Our prayers are for the family that lost a compassionate, generous, humble, skilled Osteopath!

My thoughts are with you Dr. Hugh and family. I am honored to have known Dr. Charlie. In the late 70's in Aberdeen,WA, my mom had been very sick with vascular disease and cancer. Her name was Lucille and Dr. Charlie was the only person she allowed to call her Lucy. His bedside manner was wonderful and he really cared for his patients. The Schuetz family is very fortunate to have 2 caring and loving doctors in the family!!

We have lost one of the few remaining masters of the true osteopathic art. My sincere condolences to his wife and daughter-- as well as to the hundreds or thousands of patients who will no longer have Charlie to keep their backs pain-free. We miss you, Charlie.
