Aunt Grace was a lovely, caring lady that I shall forever cherish and remember. After hurricane katrina, she opened her life and her heart and helped take care of my mother for almost a year until returning to Bay St. Louis was possible. Aunt Grace was fun and interesting with many interests. On behalf of my son and myself, she is loved and missed very much. Our condolances to all of her extended family.

I miss Grace. S he was my friend and we shared a love of nature and taking pictures of birds and other critters...and libraries and books. I will always remember her with fondness. (And I miss Millie, too.)

I am so very sorry to learn of Ms. Kittrell's passing. She was a frequent and favored patron of the Broadmoor Library for many, many years. It was always a delight to see her when she would come in. We have missed her presence in our lives. Anna Livengood, Broadmoor Branch Library/Shreve Memorial Library.

On behalf of Women Veterans of Louisiana we offer our heartfelt sympathies to the family of Miss Grace Phillippa Kittrell, U.S. Air Force veteran. Here is a poem that we honor our women with:

She is a woman veteran
Whose service was true
She proudly served
The Red, White and Blue

She gave a part of her life
So others could be free
And without any hesitation
She joined unselfishly

She did her job well
With Honor and Pride
And served her great country
With the men alongside

We're proud today to know
That although she is gone
She goes on to glory
After a job "well done"

And so, "Our Dear Sister"
We salute you today
A special Airman laid to rest
In this quiet, solemn way
