MISHAWAKA - Alice R. Hays, 70, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Wednesday, May, 17, 2017, in Sprenger Health Care of Mishawaka.
Alice was born on July 9, 1946, in South Bend, IN, to the late William and Mary (Rak) Borsodi. On June 14, 1969, in South Bend, IN, Alice was married to Russell Hays, who survives. Also surviving are their children: Debra Hays of New Berlin, WI and Kenneth Hays of Gary, IN; her brothers, William (Laura) Borsodi of Yorkville, IL and Robert (Donna) Borsodi of South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Shelby Staub and Adeline Rose Mellantine, and 1 great-grandchild on the way.
Alice was also preceded in death by her siblings, Nancy Lochmondy, Mary Mitchell and James Borsodi.
Alice was a graduate of South Bend Central High School and she worked at the University of Notre Dame for 30 years as an Accounts Payable clerk. A simple woman with a heart of gold willing to help anyone in need. She enjoyed reading, traveling and Notre Dame sports but most of all she loved her family and friends and making a lifetime of happy memories. She will be forever missed and loved.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 6:00 pm in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 pm until time of the service. Cremation has taken place.

Mom,
Two years have passed since we lost you. Nothing can describe the pain that I still feel. Me and Debbie have the best relationship we have ever had which is a big plus. Addie is growing so big and becoming an even more beautiful girl. She is now in pre-school. Im so sorry you had to go through all the pain you went through. Mom I love you with every fiber of my body. Please give Honey a kiss for me.

Mom I miss you so much. I know your pain has stopped and you are in a better place and that does give me comfort. I wish I would have been a better son but I hope you know I always loved you with all my heart. You were always so patient and loving and -nonjudgmental. You always showed your love in so many ways. I promise to help dad and try to do what would have made you proud. I promise to try to be a more positive influence with all lives that I touch just like you always do. I hope you Rest In Peace and are reunited with Honey. Thanks for being the best mother ever. I love you mom with all of my heart.
