SOUTH BEND - Beulah M. “Kaye” Scheiman, 99 years old, passed away at 9:26 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Trailpoint Village, South Bend. Mrs. Scheiman was born on October 19, 1917, in Rock Island, IL, to the late Louis F. Eckhart and Effie (French) Apelgreen. She has lived in South Bend most of her life. On November 30, 1940, in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Gerald Scheiman, who preceded her in death on May 17, 1987.

Mrs Scheiman is survived by her brother, Charles (Wava) Apelgreen of Lakeville, IN; and her sister, Essie Shipley of Milton-Freewater, OR. Four sisters, Dessa Frisbie, Margaret “Peg” Vosburgh, Roberta Davis, and Ona Sigrist; and one brother, William Eckhart, all preceded her in death.

Mrs. Scheiman was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed genealogy. She was a 1935 graduate from Central High School in South Bend.

At her request, a private burial will be held at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. There will be no services or visitation. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, is assisting the family. Contributions in memory of Beulah “Kaye” Scheiman may be donated to the charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be offered to her family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
