Gregory A. Barr

SOUTH BEND - Gregory A. Barr, 61, of South Bend, IN, died on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at his home of natural causes. Gregory was born December 24, 1954, in South Bend, to the late Harvester Barr and Jacqueline (Purnell) Barr, and was a lifetime area resident.

Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald C. Barr, and his father, Harvester Barr. He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline; brother, Gary Barr of South Bend; his sister, Gail Smith-Barr of South Bend; his brother, Glenn Barr (Marion) of Niles MI; and many nieces and nephews.

Gregory was a 1973 graduate of South Bend LaSalle High School. He worked as a dishwasher for several local restaurants in the area until he was unable to continue working due to health challenges. Gregory enjoyed walking and spending time with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by loved ones and friends.

Memorial services, for family only, celebrating Gregory's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23th, at New Bethel Tabernacle Church, 2627 Napier St., South Bend IN. Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel, South Bend, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.

To the Barr family, l used to work with Greg on the SECEP job program and we would laugh all the time. He will be missed. God has heavenly work for him to do now, and if l know Greg, hes still smiling and laughing because of his spirit!! God Bless all of you.
