Bernard O'Neill Obituary

Bernard E. O'Neill Jr., 80, of Brockton, died May 25, 2014. Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Bernard E. and Katherine O'Neill. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked at various places throughout the years, including United Farmers, Whitings Milk, Hudson Bus Line, Diamond International Paper, American Can Co. and Breyers/Kraft Foods. Bernard was the husband of Marjorie A. (Lyman) O'Neill; father of John O'Neill of Braintree, Nancy Gilkes of Texas, Kimberly Mello of Brockton, Kenneth O'Neill of Brockton and Kevin O'Neill of Brockton; brother of Therese K. O'Neill and the late Edward O'Neill; and a grandfather and great-grandfather of many. All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Thursday at 9:30 a.m., funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Edith Stein Church, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
