Jean Schmidbauer Obituary

Jean Marie Schmidbauer (nee Curtis) of Manchester Township, N.J. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Community Medical Center, Toms River, N.J., at the age of 70.
The Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower Church, 310 Plainfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, N.J., on Monday, April 14, at 10 a.m. Arrangements are by Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights. Jean was born in Morristown, N.J., to the late Harold "Haxi" Curtis Jr. and Gwendolyn Dabinett Curtis. She was raised in Berkeley Heights and resided in Manahawkin, N.J., before moving to Manchester in 2006.
She worked in administrative offices, most recently for Summit Medical Group, before her retirement.
Jean is lovingly remembered for being an amazing family woman, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a passion for dancing and was fondly called "Jean Jean the dancing machine."
She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh that brought joy to those who knew her.
Jean was also a talented baker and enjoyed crafts such as sewing and ceramics. She also enjoyed extensive traveling with her family throughout her husband's Army career.
Jean was the beloved wife of William R. Schmidbauer; loving mother of Billy J. Schmidbauer of Middlesex, N.J., and Lisa Curcio and her husband, Donato, of Basking Ridge, N.J., and cherished grandmother of Jessica Armenti, Andrew, Montana, and Cheyenne, Schmidbauer, and Nicholas and Kaitlyn Curcio.
She was also the dear sister of Harold Curtis and his wife, Betsy, and Thomas Curtis and his wife, Barbara, all of Whitehouse Station, N.J., and Wendy Dry and her husband, Paul, of Tennessee. Jean is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jean's memory to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301 (www.dav.org).

Lisa & Bill,
My prayers and thoughts for you and your family.
I was searching thru old pictures just last night and came across pictures of our parents having a grand time many years ago.
I wanted to reach out and am so sorry to hear of your loss.
