Freelance journalist Steven Sotloff has been killed, according to reporting from multiple sources. Sotloff was allegedly executed by the Islamic State group in a video released by the terrorist group on Tuesday.
American intelligence agencies confirmed Sotloff's identity and the authenticity of the video Wednesday.
Sotloff was kidnapped in 2013 while covering the Syrian civil war. Read more on this story at The Chicago Tribune and The New York Times.
