I'm so sad to discover that Andy has left us. I literally fell in love with him, the first time we met. I lived in Tampa and went to Skippers one Sunday night with friends. Andy approached me, struck up a conversation and it took about 1 minute to discover our shared St. Louis roots.....BAM! We became quite close. My son, Adam adored Andy. They were instant buddies. Adam was the 4 yr. old crown prince of Skippers. Riding on Andy's shoulders every where we went. I've missed him since 1988, when I moved back home. I always had the dream of reconnecting with him, and now it's gone.

Ann, so sorry to hear of Andy's passing. I was a fraternity brother of his and we would enjoy lunch together a couple times a month. He will be missed by all his TEKE brothers.

I am sorry to hear of Andy's death. I grew up on Warwick Lane with Andy. There were many pre-schoolers on the block in the late 40's and early 50's. Andy was a friend to all and a significant part of my memories of that time. I remember him fondly.

Andy was a dear friend for close to 30 years, both here in CA and in Florida. His parents, while they were in Mendicino, were wonderful additional 'family' for me and my family. They are misssed, and so will Andy be missed. Love you Andy!

I am deeply sorry to hear this news. Andy and I swam next to each other for many years over the course of the last 20 years. He was a close acquaintance and someone who I always enjoyed seeing and speaking with. This is shocking. RIP.

From someone who worked side by side with Andy in the early Skippers years, he was a good human being. His sense of humor and work ethic were infectious and his pride in ownership came through clearly everyday. All 'mullets', former and present, owe Andy a debt of gratitude.

John and I were shocked to hear of Andy passing. He was always such an athletic guy. He was a little frail when we saw him four years ago at Thanksgiving, he was always an inspiration to me. He will be missed.

Dear Ann, Joan and Family
I am saddened by Andy's passing. We used to talk on the phone for hours. I still have an empty feeling and prey for him often. Andy is missed! Rest in Peace - Cousin!

Dear Ann and family,
I was sad to hear the news about Andy. I was friends with him for over 30 years. We had many good times together here in Tampa and in SF. And he was always a great conversationalist. My house in San Rafael was always his "inn on the way to Fred & Alice's" place in Mendocino. We also had a love of swimming in common. They are having a memorial for him at Skippers Smokehouse in Tampa hosted by his former partners Tom and Vince this coming Sat. March 12th from 1-3 pm. I will miss him and send my love to you and your family. Sharon

Our condolences to Andy's family on behalf of his Kirkwood High School class. He is well remembered as a great swimmer, talked about last fall at our 50th high school graduation reunion. Blessings to his family on his loss.

andy was a longtime friend, but i hadn't seen him in years. we were team mates at kirkwood high and monmouth college until uncle sam came calling for me. when we first met in our teens, andy was a fair swimmer, but his natural ability and dedication allowed him to progress quickly to an upper-tier competitor. andy was a great guy and i will miss him.
