Heartfelt sympathy goes out to the McConnell family. I recall meeting Chris years ago when he was friend to a supervisor of mine at Dept of Labor. He came to the office on occasion and was very pleasant and friendly. Saddened to realize this was in fact the person I met once I recognized the name. RIP, Chris.

I knew Chris for over 20 years, he was my neighbor and my friend. He was always the one to come over to me to say 'hi'. We rode together many times his favorite Sunday morning bike to the beach for breakfast with his friends 'of a certain age'. I think the most impressive character trait was Chris's devotion to his family: he clearly loved his family and maintained a deep bond that was inspiring to me and I am sure everyone else that knew him. There is a huge tear out of the fabric of his family and community without him.
