Dooher, James M., 79 of Boca Raton passed peacefully, August 14, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. 'Jimmy' is survived by his loving wife, Karen T. Dooher of Boca Raton, brother John Dooher of Delray Beach, four children, daughters Kathryn Frederickson of Sarasota, FL and Suzanne Sanzare of Coconut Creek, sons James P. Dooher of Croton-on-Hudson, New York and Daniel Dooher of Atlanta, GA., grandchildren Matthew and Sam Paradise, Ashley Dooher Milburn, Jason and Jake Sanzare, Alexandra Dooher, and the family's latest arrival, great grandson Landon. His extended family includes step-children Kevin Kovar of California and his partner Carre Griffin and their children Joey and Emily; Tina Kovar of Asheville, NC; Joe Kovar (predeceased); step daughter-in-law Melanie Kovar of Wellington and her sons Dylan and Robert; son-in-laws Robert Frederickson and Jeffrey Sanzare; daughter-in-law Erin Dooher; grandson-in-law Marvin Milburn; son Jimmy's partner, Cheri Stafford; sister-in-law Linda Dooher; niece Shannon Dooher Park, her husband Chris Park and their four children; and first wife, Marion Keane of Delray Beach. A native New Yorker, Jimmy was a graduate of Manhattan College (and as such a long suffering - though ever faithful - fan of the Jaspers) where he earned a degree in accounting before accepting a position with IBM in the early 1960s. It was his work with IBM that brought him - and his young family - to Boca Raton in 1969. Beyond his loving family, Jimmy will be remembered and missed by countless friends with whom he shared the simple pleasures of life: card games on the weekends, especially 'Big Bertha' in his later days, bowling a few frames with friends, music and dancing with the love of his life, Karen…but also - and always - conversation. Jimmy was a true 'people' person. So many were drawn to him because he was such a great listener. His door was always open - literally - and not just to his friends, but to the friends of his children as well, so much so that "The Dooher House" became a well-known staging ground in Boca during the seventies and eighties for countless teenage adventures and even a few errant 'schemes.' Kathy and Suzanne and Jimmy and Danny's friends always felt at home with Jimmy; perhaps because he would actually listen to them. In return they would listen back…Chris, Missy, Patty, Peggy, Leslie, Mark, Craig, Chad, Carl, Sherrie, Denise, Veronica…the list goes on and on. So many will miss his easy wit, wry humor, his honest, heartfelt advice...his welcoming way. Many have commented that Jimmy missed his calling in life: that he could have been a great teacher…but then again, for many, he was. There will be a church service in honor of Jimmy on Saturday, August 29th at 2:00pm at St. Ambrose Church in Deerfield Beach. The church is located at 380 S.
