VINCENT J. VITAGLIANO

Vincent J. Vitagliano, (87) peacefully passed into eternity on April 30th, 2015 surrounded by his children, at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton. Born October 29th, 1927 in the Bronx, to Alphonso and Giuseppina Vitagliano, he graduated from Cathedral Prep, and got engineering degrees at Manhattan College, VPI and a doctorate from NYU. He first worked as a Structural Engineer and then taught Engineering at Manhattan College for 9 years. Vincent later worked at IBM for 26 years retiring in 1989. He actively volunteered at the PB Sheriff's Office for almost 20 years and Our Lady of Lourdes Church for over 25 years. Vincent raised his family in Mount Vernon and Valhalla, NY. His wife Audrey predeceased him in 2006. He is survived by his nine children (Rita Gleason of Santa Ana, CA.; Dr. Mary Russell of Boca Raton; Teresa Golden of Hopewell Junction, NY; Aldo of Port Chester, NY; Dr. Blaise Vitale of Grantsburg, WI; Norma Drummond of Wappinger Falls, NY; Laura Marcinauskis of Shelton, CT; Grace Roth of Westfield, NJ; and Jay from Boca Raton), 24 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Vincent is also survived by his older sister Yolanda Izzo of Pawling, NY. A 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 2nd at Our Lady of Lourdes. Interment will be in a private graveside service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
