DIERLING, 90

LAKELAND - Beatrice Lorraine Dierling, born April 24th 1924, in Minneapolis, MN, to Syrian Phillip Dierling and Beatrice Robin Dierling, went to her heavenly father at the age of 90 on January 21st, 2015.
She is survived by her sisters Judy Rolfe and Mary Dierling, nephews Mark and Greg Dierling, and Philip Rolfe and niece Kristie Rolfe. She is also survived by many extended relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her best friend and companion of 70 years, Margaret Mclaughlin, brothers Robert and Philip Dierling, sister in law Dawn Dierling and brother in law Rip Rolfe.
A special thanks to Deb Shaffer for her kindness to both Bea and Margaret for the time spent with them.
Beatrice enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April of 1944. She served at Pearl Harbor after the attack and is authorized to wear the American Campaign, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign and World War II Victory Ribbons. She received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy in April, 1946. Bea was always proud of her service to her country.
She then returned to her management job with Sears in Minneapolis. She and Margaret eventually retired from Sears and bought Big Pines Resort and an island on Island Lake in Emily, MN, where they lived until they moved to Lakeland full time. They have been seasonal residents of Twin Palms for over 40 years.
We want to thank the staff at Hawthorne Inn and Lakeland Regional Hospital for the great care they gave Bea in her final days.
Bea will be greatly missed by all her friends and relatives. She will also be greatly missed by Bill Mclaughlin, who always said she has had my back all my life and vice versa. To all of her extended family, she was known as Aunt Bea.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. with Words of Remembrance at 10:15 a.m. and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 210 Lemon Street, Lakeland, Florida.
