Holp, Ida Grace; age 84; of Mt. Pleasant; passed away Saturday September 27, 2014 with her family by her side. Funeral Services will be Wednesday October 1 at 11 a.m. from the Berry Funeral Home with Pastor Dar Blanshan officiating. Burial will be in Salt River Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday September 30, from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Berry Funeral Home. Ida was born July 11, 1930 in Shepherd the daughter of Edward and Etta (Cross) Claybaugh. She was a life member of the Eastern Star of Mt. Pleasant and the Mt. Pleasant VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Ida worked as a teachers aid at Sunny Field School and was a volunteer for the Special Olympics. She had also worked for the Mt. Pleasant Adult Education’s, Farm House, teaching cooking and sewing. Ida is survived by her special friend, Stanley Curtiss of Winn; her four children, Arvella (Chris) Cross of Shepherd, Lois Schutt of Shepherd, Dawn (John) Schafer of Taylor, SC, and Richard (Tina) Holp of Rosebush; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Ruby LaLone of Alma; and 1 brother, Orville (Lillyann) Claybough of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 7 brothers and sisters. Memorials may be given to Woodland Hospice.

"Mom" Ida...you were such a hoot! Always quick with a hug, a smile, a laugh and some kind of a crazy story if asked long enough. I cherish that I had the blessing of loving and knowing you and your beautiful family...three generations of them, all precious to me. Thank you for being you and for sharing so much with so many! Ida Grace, which is how Mom always referred to her, brought many fond memories to Mom. Often times, she would laugh until she cried recounting one of her escapades. Now, they can reminisce together up there. I was touched she and Orval made the trip to Mom's service 3 years ago and am sad I am unable to do the same for you. Ida will be missed greatly. I can't believe it has been close to 40 years when I met you, ever since the "Farm House". She and Lois Cook were both Angels in my book. I learned so much from them, I didn't know much of anything. Ida was the sweetest, calm, always smiling. I think about always.

I will miss everything about her. She loved everyone and made sure you knew it. She was never shy to have fun and laugh either. Her baking was out of this world. She was my number 1 grandma that is for sure. She is going to be missed everyday but I am so happy she is in heaven laughing and rejoicing. Love you grandma and thank you for the women you were.
