Debbie--I am so sorry to learn of Jimmy's passing. It seems like yesterday we were kids at VI and now we're in our 60s! here did time go?!?! I'm glad I made it to the funeral. I realized it's what I remember as St. Margaret Mary! I thought it was the old St. Catherine of Siena!!! Thank heaven for websites--I double checked on the Albany Diocese site! I hope the funeral liturgy & the wonderful anthem done by 1st Pres under Michael's expert direction brought comfort to you & your family. I added you to our Prayer List at Cathedral of All Saints where I've been a parishioner & full Episcopalian for almost 20 years. God bless. Take care of yourself & hope to catch you at 1st Pres!

So sad that Jimmy has passed, he waged such a valiant struggle, what a fighter. I enjoyed his great bands and music over the years. His classmates at CBA ('69) have fond memories of him. God bless him and his family.

My wife Ilene and I are very sorry for your loss. I knew Jimmy for almost fifty years. I always looked forward to seeing him when his band played at a wedding or another type function. He always made me get up to sing a song or play the drums which I enjoyed very much. I would also run into him when he came to do phone work at one of the state buildings that I was responsible for as a Telecommunications rep.. I would always receive comments from the other employees saying he did a great job and was a pleasure to deal with. I am sure Jimmy is now in heaven entertaining his fellow angels with his music and humor. His memory will live on with all the lives he touched while he was here on this earth. I know we will never forget him. Our prayers are with Jimmy and his family during this sad time. May he rest in peace.

As high school classmates at VI in the mid sixties, our friendship bond began, and was further strengthened as we both reconnected on construction sites through the years. Always with a smile and handshake upon meeting.
When we were planning our 40th reunion, I contacted him to be our entertainment. What's a better way to celebrate our years together in high school listening to the Chord-a-Roys?
Without hesitation, Jimmy's response . . . "we'll be there." And we danced again . . . as if we were back at VI !
Sadly for me, my 8 year old Grandaughter, a drummer, didn't get to meet this special musician here on earth. I suspect he would have greeted her too with a smile, and handshake . . .
then imagine what he would have done for this child.
On behalf of the VI Class of '68, please know that this loss for your family is felt by all who knew him. Our hearts are saddened, but our memories are of the love of life he shared with all.
Jimmy will be missed, because he is loved.
