Louise Brooker Obituary

WATERVLIET Louise M. Del Signore Brooker, 58, died Monday evening, May 16, 2005 at Northwoods of Troy with her family at her side. Born in Troy on July 25, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Albert D. and Rose Russo Del Signore. Louise was raised in Watervliet and graduated from St. Brigid's Grammar School in Watervliet and Catholic Central High School in Troy, Class of 1964. Louise resided in Auburn, Mass. for many years before returning to Watervliet 10 years ago. She was employed by the Norton Co. in Watervliet as a secretary, was an aerobics instructor with the Traveling Y and was a receptionist with Weight Watchers in East Greenbush for 15 years. She worked as a receptionist at St. Brigid's Church in Watervliet and for the past five years was employed by the NYS Workers Compensation Board in Menands. She was also a homemaker, raising her two daughters. Louise was a woman of strong faith and was a catechism teacher and eucharistic minister at St. Brigid's Church in Watervliet and St. Joseph's Church in Auburn. She was the beloved mother of Laura L. (Clint) Rossi of Danby, Vt. and Tricia A. (Frances Genovese) Brooker of Watervliet; adored sister of Frank J. (Grace) Del Signore of Clifton Park, Albert D. (Judy) Del Signore Jr. of Ballston Lake and the late Dominick Del Signore and his wife JoAnne of Watervliet. Louise is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many special friends. The funeral will be Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Brigid's Church, Watervliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Joseph G. Busch, pastor. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Contributions may be made to St. Brigid's Church Memorial Fund, 695 5th Avenue, Watervliet, NY 12189. Yesterday, Frank’s soul took flight on the wings he so fully earned, and he is now home—right where he longed to be—beside you. His prayers have been answered, his journey complete, and I can only imagine the joy of your embrace as you welcomed him into the warmth of your arms.

For the last twenty years, he sent his love to heaven in whispered prayers and quiet moments, and now those messages have become his presence. I hope you greeted him with the same laughter, tenderness, and love that he shared so generously with us here on earth.

Though we feel the weight of his absence, we know his spirit will never leave us. He will be the gentle nudge, the quiet comfort, and the unseen hand guiding us forward.

We will love him for all our days, and carry his light until we see him again.

Happy Easter to all of you!

Mom we had a great dinner. We made homemade fettucine that was delicious. Our sauce was loaded with meat. Sausages, beef, pork, meatballs just like you use to make. Salad, garlic bread, olive salad, green salad and of course Easter pizza. Genets for desert. We had wine as well. It could only have been better if all of you were here with us. Thank you for all the wonderful memories and your love.

Dear Mom, Pop, Dom and Louise,
Grace and I put wreaths on your graves last week. It was nice not to have any snow and it has been very mild. All of the shopping, baking and wrapping are done and we are tired. Frank and Ashley will come for Christmas Eve dinner tomorrow and we will all go to Kim's for Christmas dinner. Looking forward to all of it. HAPPY THANKSGIVING my darlings,
I miss you all but more so on this holiday. It was a simple day for us. Just the two of us as Frank and Ashley went to Long Island to spend the holiday with Ashley's family and Kim and Doug had his family for dinner. We were invited but we just wanted to spend a quiet day. We had a fine turkey dinner with all the trimmings and we remembered the wonderful Thanksgivings we had with all of you. Happy New Year and a Blessed Epiphany!
I love and miss you all. We went out with Al and Judy to the Elks and we had a great time. The food was good and so was the music but by midnight we were ready to go home. I can remember all the New Years parties we went to and all the fun we had.
It is with sadness that I tell you of the passing of Micheal Russo. He died on the 3rd. I was sorry to see him pass.
