Joseph Mihalyi Jr. HAMILTON Joseph Mihalyi Jr., 88, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at home. Born in Trenton, Joe lived his entire life in the Trenton/ Hamilton area and resided in the Lakeside section of Hamilton for the past 59 years. He was a graduate of Trenton Central High School and attended Trenton Junior College, studying drafting and mechanical drawing. Joe served in World War II with the Merchant Marine, traveling the globe for the war effort, and then served stateside during the Korean War with the U.S. Army. Joe worked for his entire career as a layout man for Industrial Engineering Works and RAS Fabrication, Trenton. Many of the area's steel structures and bridges were, in part, the fruits of his labors. He was a member of the sheet metal workers' union for many years. Joe was a longtime devout member of St. Raphael's/Holy Angels Parish, Hamilton. An avid sports fan, Joe enjoyed watching his New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Phillies, and spent years watching, coaching and supporting his children and grandchildren during their sporting careers. Joe was a motorcycle enthusiast, having owned various Harley-Davidson and Indian bikes. He also raced Harleys on cinder flat-tracks throughout the northeast. The ultimate handyman, Joe enjoyed fixing anything and everything he could get his hands on. He was an expert model airplane builder and enjoyed fishing and the shore. Son of the late Josef and Julia Robles Mihalyi; husband of the late Viola D. Mihalyi and brother of the late Julie M. Layden, he is survived by his son, Joseph B. Mihalyi and wife Theresa of Hamilton; his son, Robert W. Mihalyi and fiancee Lisa Simmons of Hamilton, and his grandchildren, Leah, Robert, Joseph, Michelle, Steven and Jacqueline. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton. KingstonandKemp.com. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael's Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton.
