Alice Marilyn SIME

1935 - 2017

Alice Marilyn 81, of Edina MN Passed away on June 2, 2017, in her home at The Waters of Edina. Marilyn, as she is known to her family and friends, was born in McVille, ND on November 22, 1935. She graduated from High School in Velva, ND and received her nurse's training in Minot ND. She went on to earn academic degrees from the University of Minnesota and Boston University. During her 41-year career Marilyn was a practicing RN at several area hospitals, then a professor and director of Graduate Studies in the School of Nursing at the University of Minnesota, where she was one of the founders of the School of Nursing's doctoral program. She retired in 1997 but has continued to support both the University and the School of Nursing by funding many scholarship activities. Marilyn is survived by her beloved Italian greyhound Annie and by her brothers John C. Sime of Scottsdale AZ and Richard D. Sime of Bronx NY.
