David M. SONDEREGGER

Age 78, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 peacefully at home with his family at his side. Preceded in death by mother Marian and survived by Sandra, his loving wife of 54 years; daughter Kirsten (Bill) Rhodes and sons Peter (Frida), Fredrik (Carrie) and Erol (Jodee); grand-children Hanna, Carl, Michael, Justin, Andrew and many nieces and nephews; father Leo, sisters Karin Mills, Suzanne (Earl) de Berge, Kim, Krista and brother John (Ann). Born in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 23, 1937, David attended Southwest High School in Minneapolis, where he met his life's love. He and Sandra attended the UofM, where David studied journalism and geography; he was active in the UofM's International Student Center. They wed and moved abroad after university, and welcomed the birth of their first child while living in Tehran, Iran. His career spanned television broadcasting, public relations, sales and relationship management with firms across the country. Dave drew his greatest professional satisfaction from his experiences working at Minnesota Public Radio over the last 18 years. An avid walker long before such things were in vogue, Dave could often be seen on weekends circling Lake Calhoun or walking along the Mississippi River near his home. David's great zest for life and the beauty he found in every living thing will be forever celebrated. Memorial service Monday, December 7th at 10:00am at Lakewood Memorial Chapel with visitation ½ hour prior at Lakewood Cemetery 3600 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55408 612-822-2171 and reception immediately following.
