Albert Bump Obituary
He was born on November 23, 1921, in Hudson, the son of Dan E. and Edna M. (Smith) Bump. Albert graduated from Clayton High School.
He served in the U.S. Army/Airforce during World War II as a plane mechanic. Albert married Marie I. Moore on May 16, 1946 in Angola, IN. She preceded him in death on January 17, 2011.
He retired from M & S Manufacturing in 1984 with over thirty years.
Albert enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing and he loved the time he spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are one son, Edd (Gloria) Bump of Pittsford, one daughter, Linda Young of Hillsdale, seven grandchildren, Garry (Dee) Bump of Jerome, Tammy (Robert) Houser of Pittsford, Mike (Monica) Bump of Osseo, Joel (Stacy) Stiverson of St. Clair Shores, Jason (Megan) Stiverson of Jonesville, Amiee Stiverson of Jonesville, and Tom (Sabine) Young of Jonesville, twenty-one great-grandchildren, three sisters, Leona Petrie of North Adams, Irma Osborn of Coldwater and Betty Yenor of Morenci, one brother, Dan (Joyce) Bump of Hudson and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and son-in-law David Young.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson, with Dr. Samuel E. Wickard officiating. Burial will take place in Leonardson Cemetery in Pittsford with full Military Honors performed by Hannan-Colvin Post #180 American Legion of Hudson. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale.
