Carmela Arcaro Plunkett (Age 90)
On Friday, July 3, 2015, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of Charles Plunkett, Jr.; mother of Charlie (Deb) Plunkett, Ralph "Rocco" Plunkett, Caryn (John) McIntyre, Mary (Fred) Calandra and Joanne (Dave) Sowers; grandmother of Jamie McIntyre, Julie (Cody) Smith, Justin McIntyre, Mandie Plunkett, Joseph McIntyre, Chuck (Becky) Plunkett, JP McIntyre, Al (KC) Sowers, Vicki Calandra, Jackie Sowers, Brad Calandra and Kevin Sowers; great-grandmother of Landon, Mallory and Charlotte Smith and Emma Plunkett; sister of Jennie Arcaro, Dorothy DeGiorgi, Eleanor Horner and Ralph "Buddy" Arcaro, Jr. Also survived by 33 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and at Our Lady of Grace Church, 15661 Norbeck Blvd., Silver Spring, MD 20906 on Tuesday, July 7 from 10 to 11 a.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I'm soooooo sorry to hear of your moms passing Joanne!!! I just found out today,,,or I would have been at the funeral. I just saw your mom on Ash Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace and we talked a long time,,,,,she and your dad looked to be in fine health......we laughed about my wedding that she catered, and how what a small
world it is that our grandsons ended up growing up together here in Frderick.....I'm so sorry for your loss,,,, I know you must be devastated.....I lost my mom 2 years ago,,,and it's the hardest thing I've ever been thru...my prayers and heart is with you and your family, and especially with you!!!!!

Carmela was a wonderful person. Carmela and Chuck were a beautiful couple too. I knew Carmela from the Roma Lodge and recently saw her at the Senior Center. I will really miss her. May she rest in peace and may her family find great comfort in her ever-lasting memory.

The way in which Aunt Carmela sacrificed for the good of others is a great example for all of us. She will be entering into Heaven's Hall of Fame on the first vote. It was an honor to have her be such an important part of my life and to be an extraordinary Godmother.

I always look forward to any holiday or Birthday gathering at the Sowers because I knew Carmela and Chuck would be there. They are the kindest, sweetest couple. They always were interested in you and your kids. They always joined in.

I'll always have good memories of Mrs. Plunkett as a sweet person. She and Mr. Plunkett always took an interests in others and knew me from me from the beginning. I'm sure she's in heaven.
