Darla and her husband Steve were dear friends. I had the honour of being best man at their wedding. Steve's passing was a terrible blow but she remained a lively and vibrant person who embraced life. I will miss her but will have so many memories of good times.

I am deeply saddened to hear the tragic news that my lovely friend Darla has passed away.
We visited each other over the years after she moved back to the States from England and have had some wonderful times together, lots of shopping, drinking fine wines, and Darla was a fantastic cook, I have some lovely memories. She was such a kind, caring loving person and animal lover, she loved her rabbits and cats. I hope she has found peace reunited with her beloved Steve.
Darla will be very much missed and my heart goes out to her family.
Rest in peace Darla you will never be forgotten.

Darla was one of the reasons I liked to visit the Registrar's Office. She knew a lot about a lot of things and I enjoyed talking with her. She was not only efficient and helpful but also had a dry sense of humor. She will be missed!

I am very sad to read of Darla's unexpected death. She was a longtime colleague at American University's Washington College of Law (WCL), where I teach. I often needed Darla's assistance with registration and grading issues for my classes. She always had a solution to my problem, and a bowl of candy to sweeten the day. She was fun to talk with, especially about her time in England, European destinations, and music. I missed her when she had to leave WCL. Best wishes to her friends, and family.
