On Tuesday, September 19, 2017, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of Joseph Gallo, Jr.; mother of Laurene Gallo (David Bowman), Michael Gallo (Heidi), and John Gallo (Stacie); grandmother of Jaclyn, Scout, Alli, Sophia, Dylan, Conor, Blake, Olivia, Joseph, and Samantha Jo; sister of Miriam Mazzara, Betty Ann Cowen and the late Michael Landy. Joe, Elaine was a kind and caring neighbor. When the two of us co-hosted a Layhill Women's meeting, she took great pride in the food she prepared and its presentation. We have wonderful memories of all the great times we had together in the past 50 years: serving on the PTA together at Highland, Busy Bees, working together for Ginny, Chinese Cooking classes, travelling to the Bahamas, visiting us in FL and so much more.

Mrs. Gallo was the first person I met outside our family who was the nicest and most caring person. You could not ask for a better neighbor. She always asked for our father's well being after he got sick. My heart goes out to the Gallo family. We are a very sorry for their loss.
