It will be 3 years that Ernest left his family and friends. He was an accomplished, soft spoken, nice and kind colleague and friend ... a sparkling diamond. I join his family in remembering him and hope that they will recall many beautiful memories about their husband, father and grandfather. With many greetings.

My deepest condolences to the Corea family. I got to know Ernest later in his life in the early 2000s when I was a young college grad and I invited him to address a discussion group a few friends and I had started in D.C. Despite our age difference I found we had much in common in the small world that is Sri Lanka and that our families were connected through my grandfather and his father. We remained in touch from time to time over the years and I found Ernest to be thoughtful and always able to put himself in the other mans shoes- no small feat for most people. Rest In Peace.

It was with much sadness we received the news of Ernest's passing after a prolonged illness.My relationship with Ernest goes back to the time of my teenage years. Ernest was like a brother to me and we met frequently, more so because our parents were closely related, and there was also the influence of St Lukes Church of which Ernest's father, Rev Ivan Corea was the Vicar. Ernest Aiya regularly inquired about my studies and suggested what books I should read. Our contact continued in time , punctuated by periods when both of us lived outside Sri Lanka. Yet whenever we met it was a most happy re-union. A highlight which I vividly remember was in the 1970s when I spent a month in Singapore when he was also there. He used to meet me unfailingly each and every day, and it was lovely to engage with Indra, Lester and Andy.
We will deeply miss his presence, and are indeed priviledged to have had the opportunity to know such a warm and lovely person.
To Indra, who cared for him tirelessly during his long illness,Lester and Andy and their families we offer our sincere condolences. May his soul rest in peace

The Family can be proud of Ernest and his accomplishments. He has in Corea tradition done his best in his professional sphere and represented his motherland well. Whilst we are saddened by his passing we can also celebrate his life and his legacy will live on through Ivan, Charika and Charin.

Uncle Ernest will always be in our hearts. We remember a wonderful, kind, caring and compassionate uncle. We know he has gone home and is with Jesus. We remember Uncle Ernest's favorite Psalm - David's Psalm assures us that God's goodness will be with us throughout our lives and we will dwell in His house forever.
Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.'
