I went looking for a current phone number of Frank in 2015 and saw his obituary. I should have posted my condolences then. Maybe I did. I worked in the Executive Office for US Attorneys, 1975-1977. I was a law student at the time but full-time at the EOUSA. I didn't have a whole lot of dealings with Frank but I sure did like him. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. The family was out of town and only found out last when we got back too late. Have not seen Doc in 10 years, but he was one of the real good guys I have ever met. We played a lot of basketball. He was always smiling, even during a hard foul. He helped me coach St. Andrews 6th grade girls (incl my daughter)to the championship game, and the love for him was palpable. Our condolences for your loss, but our envy for the times you had with him.

Our hearts go out to you in this time of sorrow. We feel so lucky to have met and spent time with Frank. He touched our lives immediately, just in watching him with family and friends and seeing the love and pride he had for his family and his amazing zest for life. It only takes a moment to make a lifetime impact and memory and we are sure he has done that many times in his lifetime as he has done for us.

I liked hearing Frank tell stories of his younger days and the fun he had with family in New Jersey. He was a fun teammate and always wanted the ball. a very tenacious defender!!! I will miss playing basketball as his teammate.

to the Mallgrave family.....I'm pleased that I managed to see Frank along with a number of our basketball playing gang during his illness. Frank was a great competitor and a lot of fun. When we swap stories at the gym, Frank will still be among us......Joe Feinberg

Frank was a great basketball player and I enjoyed playing with him for many years, especially at the Bauer Recreation Center. We were about the same age and we often guarded each other. If Frank was open, you knew he would make his classic shot. I spoke to him once when he was in New Jersey and he remembered me well. "You are the guy who makes the garbage shots under the basket," he said. Then he said, "you can't imagine how much that irritated me." He was a great friend and will be sorely missed by all of his basketball buddies. My thoughts and prayers are with the members of his family that he loved so much.

There are no words to express what a huge loss this is to The Mallgrave family. Frank was a good husband, father, and adored his grandchildren. He was a wonderful brother to my Dad Larry, and the best Uncle anyone could ask for. We mourn his passing, but we also will celebrate a life well lived! You will be missed Uncle Frank.

The Roenick family are all grieved in losing a long time devoted friend, surrogate father, dependable hockey traveler and crusty companion. We will miss him but we carry many memories with him forever. Our condolences to Fran and Matty and all the family who gave him the best they could through these last months. Rest easy, now, Frank. This is a strong family you perpetuated.
Love, Wally, Jo, Jeremy and Trevor Roenick
