GERARDUS van den HEUVEL Obituary
GERARDUS MARIA WILHELMUS van den HEUVEL (Age 89)
On Thursday, February 11, 2016 of Silver Spring, MD, passed away after a lengthy struggle with Alzhiemers disease. Born in the Netherlands on April 1,1926, he served in the Dutch Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer and emigrated to the U.S. in 1948, serving as an attaché with the Dutch Embassy in Washington, DC. Later, he received a master''s degree in commercial science at Benjamin Franklin University also in Washington, DC, which he used in his lifelong pursuit in the accounting field. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Adriana van den Heuvel; his two sons Ron van den Heuvel, and Eddie van den Heuvel and daughter Sylvia Hertzberg. But most of all he will be remembered as a strong, principled man bound to his love of God, and his ability to provide the best life has to offer for his family.
