HELEN B. RUHL (Age 93)
On Thursday, March 12, 2015, of Takoma Park, MD. Mother of Dan (Judy) Daniels, Dwight (Mary Jane) Daniels, Charles (Lucy) Ruhl and the late Don Daniels. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, March 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church, 10103 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Sisters of Mercy, 515 Montgomery Ave., Merion, PA 19066-1214.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

A strong, faith-filled woman, Helen - better known to all as "Grandma" - has been a joy and an inspiration. Over the years of knowing her, the best moments for me were the shared weekly liturgies followed by our 'breakfast out' together. In meeting up with her at home, it was amazing to learn more about her as she shared some of her wide variety of life experiences, her deep love of God and the Catholic Church, her delight in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who hold her in such esteem, and her ability to laugh and enjoy the beautiful (and sweet) things that life held for her. As she now delights in heaven may she enjoy eternally all that God has prepared for those who love him. [1 Cor. 2:9]
