Beloved husband of late Shirley Bjerke; father of Stuart Bjerke and Janet Bjerke Williams; grandfather of Lina Burke Bjerke and Herbert Berkeley Williams. Memorial Service at Lutheran Church of St. Andrew, 15300 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20905 on Monday, December 18 at 12 p.m. Interment private. Herbert joined the Norwegian American 99th Infantry Battalion in Minnesota and was a corporal by the time they moved to Camp Hale in Dec 1942. He soldiered all the way through. He was a sergeant in Company C when he received his Combat Infantry Badge in October 1944. My father also served in C Company. Salute and Blessings 99battalion.org
