Herbert joined the Norwegian American 99th Infantry Battalion in Minnesota and was a corporal by the time they moved to Camp Hale in Dec 1942. He soldiered all the way through. He was a sergeant in Company C when he received his Combat Infantry Badge in October 1944. My father also served in C Company. Salute and Blessings 99battalion.org
