Uncle Jack --
Standing tall and strong,
Bending but never breaking,
Staying rooted to family, no matter what.

Thanks to Uncle Jack, we know what strength of character means, along with a sense of humor. He showed this by example every day through his love and devotion to Nora, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and community. Jack brightened the room and made you feel special and welcomed no matter where he was -- at lunch, Broomes Island gatherings, Sunday cookouts at Grandpa and Grandma's, picnics at the Kensington Cabin, camping in the backyard during the summer, or telling stories at the Deep Creek family reunions.

A family saying that "Green's are Good for You," brings to mind what Jack is all about:

Good to Smile
Good to Laugh
Good to Sing
Good to Dance
Good to Tell Stories
Good to tell Jokes
Good to Work Hard, and
Good to be Family

Love you Jack. What a Gift; What an Uncle.

I have a plaque that reads, "My father didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it."
Jack's love of family, his integrity, humility, and humor are a few examples of how he lived his life and is evident in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
I will remember the twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face while telling family stories, jokes or organizing potato-sack races at the family picnics. Always happy to see everyone, Jack had the gift of making me feel special.
I know Mom and Dad appreciated the Wednesday-night poker games, the alarm he made to call the nurses and lunches on St. Patrick's Day in Wheaton.
I feel blessed having Jack as an uncle and as another example of "how to live".
Love,
Mike, Debbie, David and Sarah Fitzgerald

The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Jack is "What a great man"! Jack made everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. He & Nora would frequently open their home for family gatherings that would become the backdrop for the many memories I will treasure forever. He was a great story teller & I always came away with a bit more knowledge about him & his family (& a good laugh as well). I always admired what an amazing brother he was to my Dad. The love & support he gave to my Dad & Mom over the years are appreciated more then he will ever know. He has left an indelible mark on me & I am so grateful that he was my Uncle.

We are sorry for your loss. Uncle Jack was a good man who led a great life spawned a great family. He was the standard for goodness, but also lightness, as he knew how to have fun. His example was powerful and will be missed immeasurably.

They say the best gift you can give another is a great example...well Jack certainly did an outstanding job and all that he touched has been truly blessed! Jack taught us all what loyalty, integrity, commitment and work ethic was all about! He will be missed but know his legacy and spirit will continue to shine thru the family. We hope and pray that our Jack Green will follow his foot steps and become the great husband, father and friend that Jack was to all. Love, Dom Jennifer Jack and Mary

Dear Nora, Charles, Trisha, and Kenny,
Salt of the earth is what always came to mind whenever I thought of my uncle Jack, and I think I even noted this when commemorating Jack and Nora's anniversary. Having just gone to his service, I feel humbled and inspired by his memory. The service was perfect, not the least of which because it was such a perfect reflection of Jack: humble and dutiful, but filled with light and joy. He has left a legacy of amazing children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as a model of how to live: simply but fully and with great enjoyment. It felt special when the geese flew over his burial, and I like to think that was his way of smiling down on everyone with the knowledge that this was a life well lived. Nora, you were the perfect counterpart to Jack, and enabled him to fully shine forth as the best of himself, and live this life to the absolute fullest. I can't imagine the pain of losing someone you have shared so much of your life with and can only hope you find comfort in remembering the many joys you shared over the years, and what a full life you both had. I'm sure he will be watching over you with tremendous love and gratitude.
Love, Lesley

Nora; Charles; Trish; Ken,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. We are very sorry for your loss. Uncle Jack was a very special person. Always a kind work, genuinely interested in what was going on in your life. He was never the loudest voice in the room, but I'll never forget how often the crowd built around him as he would share stories of the family, his time in the Navy or just a few jokes. His consistency, kindness and devotion set an incredible example that have meant a lot to me over the course of my life. I'm honored to have him as my uncle.

The world has lost one of the most gentle, helpful, and engaging individuals. Jack was a Navy man of the highest integrity, a devoted family man, a devoted brother, and an exceptional person. Truly one of God's blessing to this world. Jack was as pure as the fresh fallen snow. He is very much missed. May he have everlasting peace in the palms of God's hands.

Dear Aunt Nora, Cousins' Charles, Trisha and Kenny - words can't describe what Uncle Jack has meant to the Green/Albertini/Fine family. He was a ROCK! He was such a kind and giving uncle to everyone. Always a smile and usually a classic joke. I really believed that Uncle Jack knew everything there was to know about everything! Neighborhoods, boats, taxes, AC or Gas conversions, beach houses, the redskins, the best route to take ANYWHERE in the United States...it just didn't matter. He could discuss them all for hours and he always made you feel good about yourself when you walked away. I especially loved talking to him about the family when they lived in Kansas City and Reno road and having Jack tell us about everyone when they were young. He was the bridge to our past and was such a great story teller. Every time I drove past his CPA office on Knowles Ave or anywhere near your house on "the hill" on Kensington Parkway it was with great pride that I would tell my friends, "that's where my Uncle Jack works or that's where my Aunt Nora and Uncle Jack live." The memories of the parties at your house and Kensington Park will stay with me forever. What I will remember most is spending every Christmas night with both of you for the past 30 plus years. You two came to my parents house no matter what the weather was like. That was the best gift of all. Much love and strength during this difficult time.
