On Friday, January 9, 2015, of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Washington, DC. Born on June 3, 1929 in Oak Harbor, OH. Beloved wife of the late Leo B. Schlegel; mother of Gregory L. (Marsha Edney), Eric P. (Fiona), Roger B. (Sacha Place), Monica J. (Jack) Bess and Renata M. (Philip) Szczesniak. Grandmother of Alexander, Christopher, Austin, Simon, Marina,Theo, Ainsley, James, Erik and the late Tyler. Sister of James Mueller, Rev. Eugene Mueller, Catherine Bonomo and Paul Mueller. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking), Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Western Ave. at Quesada St. NW, Washington, DC, on Wednesday, January 14, at 11 a.m. Interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Chris and I were so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Chris is in South Carolina at the moment and I just returned after two weeks away so I couldn't make it today.

I'm so sorry to have missed the chance to see Aunt Janette before her sad end. However, the distance between the USA and England has meant that trips back home have been few and far between. My Dad (your Uncle Jim) and siblings have kindly agreed to represent me at the funeral. Please know that you're all in my thoughts. Your mother was a lovely woman and real one-off personality! A great gal who will be sadly missed, both across and USA and beyond.

Your Mom was a Mom to all around 30th street. She was always there in her calm and quiet way. I have many memories of her helping us as kids or watching us from the window at our antics. She will be missed but always in our hearts. Thinking of all of you.
