On Sunday, January 1, 2017, of Springdale, MD. Beloved husband of Nettie Ford; father of Allen M. (Patty) Ford, Sylvia C. (Robert) Garrett, Jay A. (Lak) Ford, and Stanley C. (Patricia) Ford, Sr.; brother of Thomas, Joyce and Gladys. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD on Friday, January 6, 2017, from 12 Noon to 1 p.m.; where Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

My Deepest Sympathy goes out to the Ford Family. Jay was truly a kind and gentle person. He will truly be missed. If I've learned anything down through the years, it's that nothing beautiful in this world is ever really lost. Those we cherish will always live on in our memory. We can't know why some things happen, but we can know that love and beautiful memories outlast the pain of grief. I will forever keep the memory of your Dad in my heart. We are honored and blessed to have known your husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. Our times with him playing tennis were so much fun. We admired his fearless attitude to challenge any player on the tennis court regardless of their age. He will truly be missed. Please accept our most heartfelt condolences and may our Lord bless and comfort the family during this difficult time.
