Dear Judi and family, It was such a joy for me to get to know John and to have him as a dear friend during the time he was at Tranquility Assisted Living in Frederick, MD. I loved sharing Jesus with him as well as many other wonderful subjects. As the Chaplain at Tranquility I was blessed to get to know John deeply and to appreciate this wonderful godly man. Judi, you had and have a wonderful dad. I am sorry for your loss! I will remember him at Mass on this next Sunday AM. Love to you and yours from Jean and me. You are in our prayers,

The memories of spending time at the Pate's home over the years with all our cousins will always be special to us. Uncle John was a strong presence, kind, funny, witty and very devoted to Aunt Mary. We love you and will miss you, Uncle John.

Oh how sorry I am for the family. What a great loss of a great man. John was a brilliant, witty, kind man who made everyone laugh and smile. I feel so honored to have known him.
