JOSEPH ALBERT PECAR (Age 78)
Of Silver Spring, MD, entered into Eternal Life, to join his wife, Nancy Ann Pecar, on Friday, October 16, 2015. Loving father of Jean Marie Tolbert (Stephen), Michelle Rene Davis (Robert), Jacqueline Ann Leanos (Steve) and Joseph Charles Pecar (Eleanor); brother of Ethel L. Cenkner, James W. Pecar (Carol), the late Allen J. Pecar (Rose) and the late George C. Pecar (Barbara). Also survived by 11 grandchildren, Stephen, Gregory, Jennifer, Trey, Jay, Nicholas, Helen, Chaz, Duncan, Lilly, Gil and many other loving family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at St. Raphael's Church, Falls Road at Dunster Road, Rockville, MD, on Wednesday, October 21, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., where Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The whole Hekimian family loves Joe. We feel for you, his family. So tough to deal with. Last time I saw him I teased him about his pocket protector full of pens. He joked, "what am I? I'm an engineer, right?" Yes, that and much more!

Uncle Joe, what can I say about this man. He was such a caring and giving man. In the few yrs (10 or so) that I knew him, he always gave to others before himself. He was so very happy to be married to a very special woman (Nancy) and now he is where he is supposed to be...with Nancy, brother George and other brother Allen. Joe was a "Clydes" regular, member of the family, like Cheers. I saw him most days (at least once) and he always had a smile and a God Bless for me. We often passed each other on the stairs, coming and going, and I already feel his absence. At the same time, I know he is where he wants to be, wih his Nancy and his God. I hope that he is happy and that he is still smiling!

Dearest Joe,
It's still hard to accept the fact that you are no longer with us. My heart is happy knowing that you are back in the arms of your beloved Nancy. In these trying times I will cling on to all of the loving memories I have of you both. There aren't to many people in the world like you. That's why it hurts so much. You prayed for me more than I did myself. Always greeting me with hugs and kisses and showering complements. I will try my best to live up to the woman you saw me as. My adopted Grandpa Joe, there is a void in my heart. Isis and I miss you dearly. I Love You Joe.

Thank you everyone for all your love, thoughts, prayers, notes - some of the stories have let me see my Dad in a new light too... I miss him a lot but I obviously shared my Dad with so many great friends and family... Thank you for being there for Dad when Mom left to go live on the other side of Heaven's door - he is with our Lord and back with "his" Nancy - I am sure he is as happy as he has ever been.
Thank you for being here for us as we say good bye to an amazing man...

I did not Joe very well but when he worked for IBM he was on a Defense Dept contract supporting Special Projects and it did not take long to realize Joe was outgoing good sense of humor and highly intelligent,I next heard he left IBM and started his own company. Joe made his mark and now I just discovered his RENEW AMERICA columns and his stock just went up now realizing he was a great thinker too concerned with future of our country.Deep lost I'm sure for all who knew him.

We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Joe's passing. Such a gentleman. He and Nancy lived in the apartment below us for 16 years. A wonderful couple. Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to all.

So sorry I am physically unable to be there for
my brother Joe. Although he was 10 years younger, I always looked up to him, he was a very devoted Catholic, example for us all.
Surely he is now with his beloved Nancy.
