On Sunday, July 20, 2014 of Bethesda, MD. Beloved husband of Gertrude "Trudy" Tulley Surut for 65 years; father of Louisa S. Greene, Christine S. Crane and David L. Surut; grandfather of Andrew R. Carey, Charlotte B. Greene, Rebecca L. Crane, Keenan M. Crane, Alexandra L. and Natalie D. Surut; great-grandfather of Kira Surut. Memorial service at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 5450 Massachusetts Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20816 on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. Funeral Service at the Old Post Chapel, Ft. Myer, VA on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church or Army Emergency Relief Fund, 200 Stovall Street, Alexandria, VA 22333.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Lee's life was a life for others. He cared deeply for country, family and friends and was a wonderful role model for us all. I am so glad that he and Trudy and their children had so many wonderful years together. He left too suddenly but his impact remains. God bless Lee and all his family.
