Sending prayers to Heaven for Mary on the anniversary of her passing. I am thinking of her siblings and other family members, too. I will always remember our special times at O'Connell and at each other's home. Jockey Ridge - when I joined Mary and her family vacation at VA Beach with a day trip to NC, shopping for records and clothes, double dating, and so many more special memories of a dear friend.

Happy Birthday Dear Sister,
Mary, It's surely been a long 3 1/2 mos.of missing you, for me. But along the way I've found it's not just family & relatives whose lives you touched.I know you had a hand in getting your beloved setters Booker & Misty placed in the best possible homes. An astonishing plane ride to New Hampshire for your favorite nutburger! Your colleagues in the "Doggie" world have all been wonderful people and shared many stories with us. Many of your co-workers @ FDA have relayed the 'best' of you to us...all so genuine. I find even the animals miss you Mary. Feeding the squirrels,&the birds with your specially blended recipes of seeds, nuts, grains, fruit, kept all of them fat and happy! A sure sign of a life well lived is to find out how others felt loved by you. Enjoy your well deserved peace and bliss!Happy Birthday my strong sister; and thank you for continued blessings and guidance and sweet memories which pop up often to help me through the mundane activities of everyday life.
God Bless you always. Love, Bernadette

How sad to hear of Mary's passing. Though a private person, she cared greatly for the animals in her life, especially her dogs Misty and Booker. I met Mary through Gordon Setter rescue when she adopted Misty. She was always willing to help dogs in need and willing to help rescue whenever we called. Mary will be missed.

So many wonderful memories of Mary since she was a young lady and loved horses dearly. Remember seeing her collection of horses and understand how she loved all animals. Mary was a very private person and extremely humble so much so her family never knew of her accomplishments. May you rest in peace in the loving arms of Our Mother Mary and her Son.

Very surprised to hear of Mary's passing. As one of her colleagues at the University Of Massachusetts I very much appreciated her collegiality and enjoyed working with her. Her role in developing the guidelines for feeding of dairy cattle for the NAS/USDA clearly defined her thorough understanding of animal nutrition. Her most recent work in developing nutrition labeling guidelines reflected the breadth of her knowledge in the broad field of nutrition. Her expertise and leadership will be missed.

In loving memory of Aunt Mary.
"And let us imagine that they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of ones gone before us pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy."
Forever in our hearts and memories.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news about my grade and high school friend. We shared many adventures together, and I'm so glad we had the chance to see each other at our 40th O'Connell reunion. She was a kind friend, the keeper of many secrets, and a treasure.
