NICHOLAS TZAVELIS (Age 86)
On Saturday, September 6, 2014, of Wheaton, MD. Beloved husband for 57 years of Hariklia Tzavelis; father of Helen Granito (Francis) of Crofton, MD and the late Basil Tzavelis; grandfather of Hannah and Francis III. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Tuesday, September 9, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., with prayers at 7:15 p.m.. Funeral Service at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church at St. Andrew's, 15100 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD, on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I'm glad I got to know Nicholas for a short while as his caregiver. We shared some good times together. My fondest memory with Nicholas was the two of us watching a beautiful cardinal at the bird feeder from the kitchen window. Both of us were reveling in a moment in time. He was a sweet and determined gentleman. May his spirit be in peace and his life here on earth remind us to be present in the moment. I send my deepest sympathy to Nellie, Helen, Hannah and Frank.
