ROBERT NOY DANIEL, JR.
Died peacefully on April 15, 2016 in Silver Spring, MD. He was 89. Bob was born on October 26, 1926 in Fort Riley, KS to Robert Noy Daniel and Laura Louise Murrell Daniel. He graduated with a BA from Loma Linda University in 1949 and attended graduate school at Washington State University. He had a 30-year career with the National Security Agency and was a charter member of the Phoenix Society.Bob is survived by his wife, Kathleen M. Daniel; children, Robert N. Daniel III, Richard C. Daniel (Cathy Gardner), John M. Daniel (Denise E. Gilliland) and Patricia K. Daniel (Phillip Gonzales); grandchildren, Laura Samalya (Ian Samalya), Michael Daniel, Christopher Daniel, Elizabeth Hanson (Richard Hanson), Cory Gilliland-Daniel, Brady Gilliland-Daniel, Kayla Daniel-Gonzales and Camden Daniel-Gonzales; sisters, Jodi Robinson and Dotty Christman; great-grandchildren, Fyra Hanson and Oliver Samalya; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by son, James S. Daniel and brother, Leo Daniel. A memorial service is scheduled for April 30 at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Congregational Church (UCC), 9525 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD. Reception to follow.www.collinsfuneralhome.com

My memories of Uncle Bob Daniel began in 1958, when my family was back in the U.S. after having been in Brazil for 6 years. I remember my first game of Monopoly with him and my cousins. Of course, he won! Over the years, I greatly appreciated his intellect and memory. I especially appreciated his ability to engage in thoughtful and insightful conversations, even if we arrived at different conclusions.

Please accept my sincere sympathies. May God's holy spirit or active force, equip you with the " power beyond what is normal " to go from one day to the next. ( 2 Corinthians 4 : 7 ) Remember : God can help his faithful servants to endure any and every problem they may face.
