ROSE NATOLI CAPONITI (Age 97)
On Sunday, March 26, 2017, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late Fiorello Caponiti and the late Robert J. Houston; and mother of Marguerite Gettings (Raymond), Frederic Caponiti (Kathleen), Elaine Rushing (Donald), James Caponiti (Arlene), Mary Jo Webster (Paul) and John Caponiti (Paula). Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and friends. Rose was a member of Roma Lodge Chapter 71 (OSIA). Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Thursday, March 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Norbeck and Muncaster Mill Roads, Rockville, MD, on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. To my cousins Rita, Fred. Elaine, Jim, Mary Jo and John, I have so many memories of your mom and my Aunt Rose. Most were centered in visiting at your old house. Whenever I was there, I could feel the love and warmth that she and your father had created. As a young man, I remember her caring for your father when they visited St. Michaels. Years later, I see her dancing at my parents 50th. That is picture I will always carry with me. One that is full of life and love of her family. Anne and I wish you peace and send our love to you all.

I always looked forward to going wherever Aunt Rose was. When I entered the room she was in, she always acknowledged my presence with genuine warmth. Her charismatic sense of humor was unforgettable. Carol and I would like to extend our condolences to each of my cousins: Rita, Fred, Elaine, Jimmy, Mary Jo, and Johnny. My memories of your mother are VERY special.

Aunt Rose was one of my favorite people. She made me laugh and she made everyone feel special. I loved the way she used poetry to describe how she felt about life and those around her. Whenever I was in her company, she lifted me from this ground, and I felt so much better. She was, and still is, an Angel...

Was saddened to learn of Aunt Rosie's passing. Our sincere sympathies to her wonderful children (my cousins) and extended family. I have fond memories as a young child of visiting Aunt Rose and Uncle Fred in their home. I cherish the lovely poem she wrote for Rick and me in honor of our wedding day. She was a great lady, and her spirit will always be dancing...

John, Cheryl, Kristen, Lindsey, Lauren and Kaitlyn and all of the Caponiti family - it's so hard to know what to say but that you're in my thoughts and prayers. I have a lot of memories of Rose throughout the years but i think my favorite is from Leslie Street, when she tried to feed me grapes and I told her i wasn't hungry, but she wouldn't give up and John you said to her "Mom, she doesn't want any grapes". I remember her just always making sure everyone was taken care of. What a legacy she is leaving behind. She will truly be missed. Love you all.

I will always remember Aunt Rose's kindness, and feel fortunate to have known love from such a wonderful person as Aunt Rose. As children we took for granted that we were loved by our parents, but we also felt love from all our aunts and uncles at the family gatherings including Uncle Fred's and Aunt Rose's home. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
