SHANE MARTEL UPCHURCH (Age 40)
On Monday, June 8, 2015, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband for 14 months of Alisa Lipkind-Upchurch; brother of Heather Upchurch (Chris); nephew of Nancy Clementson (Mike) and Gail McGaha (John). He was predeceased by his mother Shirley Jean McGaha. Also survived by other loving family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Thursday, June 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment Union Cemetery, Burtonsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, P.O. I have been thinking about Shane, Shirley and all my loved ones that have passed on as I prepare for my brother Jerry's Memorial. He passed last year and we finally are going to celebrate his life with my family on June 26. I miss Shane and his mother very much, and was so blessed to have known them. They both made me smile. I was just thinking about Shane and his wonderful mother. My brother lost his battle with Liver Cancer Feb. 11 and have joined both of them in Heaven. As a nurse and friend, I assisted Shane with his care for a short time, but really got to know him more closely during those times. He was very independent and had such a positive outlook, and resiliency to all he had to endure for so many years. He always made me laugh with his stories and comments. I miss him and his mother very much. I am glad that they are no longer suffering. I was so blessed to have known both of them, and their families. His family will always be in my prayers, especially dear Alisa.

I cannot believe it has been four years since dear Shane has passed on to a better life. I think of him, Alisa, Heather and Chris often, and still feel blessed to have known all of you. I will continue to keep all of your precious family in my prayers. God bless you always, Kathy

alisa i am very sorry for your loss and am deeply saddend at shane's passing it was a great shock to all of us and he was a great guy and friend to all who knew him he will be forever missed by the people he touched god bless you!
