THOMAS J. RICHARDS (Age 65)
On Thursday, February 19, 2015, of Takoma Park, MD. Native Washingtonian and Marine Corp Veteran of Vietnam. Beloved son of the late Paul and Rita Richards; brother of Paula Scoggins, Michael G. Richards, Patricia Dye, Rosemary Ries and the late Peter Richards. Also survived by a son Gately Thomas Richards and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Private interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD. We are so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. One day when we were redoing our hard wood floor (we live a few houses away from him) he stopped by to give us about 30 old white t shirt for us to finish the floor with, saying they were the best for that job! The same day, he also brought his picture album: we got to see what the neighborhood looked like at the beginning! It was amazing! Prayers and thoughts for his family. Olivia and Oscar

I have some fond memories of my "little" brother playing cowboys and indians in his Hoppalong Cassidy suite. We'll miss your happy spirit and jokes Tom. Love you Paula and Ronnie

Sorry to hear this news. I am remembering Tom stopping by my house one day (around the corner from his) and gifting my daughter with a sweet little blanket. A thoughtful, out of the blue gesture. Rest in peace.

We are so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was always so friendly and kind to us when we lived next door. Hudson and Parker loved him so much. He will be missed! Sending our condolences to his family!
