WILLIAM JAMES HOLLAND (Age 85)
On Wednesday, March 11, 2015, of Kensington, MD. Beloved husband of Mary Lou Holland. Survived by children, Dr. Paul (Jane) Holland, Miriam (Donald) Kinner, Dr. Susan Holland (Michael Proctor), Amy Yendall, and Jennifer (David) Holland-Still. Also survived by a brother Gerald Holland and sister Laura Coyle. Beloved grandfather of Matthew and Caitlin Proctor, Keil and Kelsey Kinner, Billy Yendall, and Brendan Still. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, March 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Redeemer Church, Summit Ave. & Cable Drive, Kensington, MD, on Monday, March 16, at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I have had the honor of knowing Bill and Mary for many years. I send my love and prayers to Mary and the children and grandchildren at their time of sorrow. He was such an amazing and kind person. He will be missed.

Uncle Billy will be missed enormously. Him and Mary have been some of the most intelligent and genuine people I have ever had the fortune of knowing. All immediate family is in my thoughts.

An inspiration and joy to me as a child growing up in Rock Island, and he served as even more when I moved out to the east coast over 30 years ago. The kindest, sweetest and most intellectual man I have known, he will forever be the ideal model of manhood for me. His unconditional regard and care also transferred to my children, who found the same inspiration in their great uncle as I had as a child. Thank you Uncle Billy, you will never be forgotten and will be impossible to replace in my life.
