I was her step grandson. Enjoyed spending time with her, and being able to spend time every summer with her for a week on Cape Cod. She was a great person, who cared beyond herself and helped everyone she could. Do miss her everyday.

Bob, Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of such a beautiful, warm, thoughtful, giving, funny, loving and simply wonderful woman. Barbara was the kind of person you could quickly become friends with and was always ready and willing to help anyone would need it. Whenever she entered my office , it was with a smile, good conversation and the room just became brighter. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Leiden family with the hope of peace and memories that will keep your loved one close at heart.

There is so much sadness at Habitat for Humanity. Losing Barbara is a deep deep loss, and we send out love and condolences to Rob and all her family. She is spoken of by staff and volunteers with such admiration and deep affection. I always loved to be in her presence - a generous spirited doer. It was our honor and good fortune to have her great energy (almost always with Rob nearby, if not at her side) dedicated to furthering Habitat's work on Cape Cod, these past 10+ years. Barbara, you touched, graced, so many lives. We miss you.

As a fellow Red Cross volunteer, I had the privilege of working with Barb on the scene of several disasters, and saw first-hand her compassion and professionalism. She also had a great sense of humor, even in times of stress. Rob and family, I'm deeply sorry for your loss.

My heartfelt sympathy to Rob, Vince, Melissa, Maggie & Quinn , and the rest of Barb's family, friends and loved ones
I have known Barbara for more than 30 years. Our acquaintance became an amazing friendship. We have shared so much over the years from our "girl's week" at the Cape, to "Surprise dinners & Scrabble" at each other's homes, to sharing the love of our Sons & Grandchildren, to many heart to heart talks on the beaches of Cape Cod and many late night chats that went into the wee hours of the morning. The list could go on forever.
Barbara's tragic death has created a huge void in my life and sadness in my heart that will never go away.
Barbie, as we always said " It's God's plan, we don't know why".
Rest in Peace dear friend until we meet again.
Always loved, always missed & NEVER forgotten. Betty
