I am saving his last book, The Last Stories. I will not read it until I am desperate. Once read, there will be no more, and I am not certain I could bear that. There will never be a writer as elegant as he. Not ever.

So sorry to hear the sad news but so pleased that I was fortunate enough to meet William Trevor on many occasions over the last forty years. I had the privilege of typing his manuscripts. A kind and lovely man and a true gentleman and my thoughts are with his family.
