I am sorry for your loss. I didn't know your mother, but a friend showed me her obituary and we were marveling at what a wonderful life she lived! I am sure she was a wonderful woman- inspiring many during her life, and afterwards. I am grateful for the reminder to live life fully & with zest! May your family continued to be blessed.

I will always remember the kind courtesies extended to me by Mrs. Finch when I visited with Chris a few years ago. She had prepared a lunch for our arrival that, while simple, was so flavorful I could only attribute it to an infusion of motherly love. I know her family cared for her deeply and I am very sorry for their loss.

I didn't know Jane Finch, but I do know her sons Duncan and Chris. I know she was a wonderful mother to have raised such caring, thoughtful and kind boys. I am the mother of a son and hope I can do half as well. Safe travels, Jane.

My favorite Jane saying is "Hold tight, with open arms".
It has gotten me through some tough moments, and will surely get me through many more.
One of her many legacies.
My thoughts and much love are with all of you--

I loved Jane as a mentor and a friend. She inspired me in good times and bad. I was always so delighted to get that typed letter in the mail on some exotic hotel stationary. And inevitably she had something profound to say or observe in her uniquely humorous way. She knitted people together with photoessays and cookbooks, fabulously planned adventures, well told stories and memories, and big meals and big hugs. She never hesitated to extend her circle of already incredible family. And of course I will always be grateful to her for teaching me the fine art of Tae Kwon Do. It was an honor to be her friend. I will miss her dearly.

I don't even know Ms. Finch. But I can tell by her obituary that she lived her life to the fullest and experienced more than most. What a lady! And what a way to go - doing something she loved. She lived a remarkable life.
