Mildred Stewart Obituary

Mildred Eileen Stewart, 90, of Roslyn, Washington, passed away peacefully at her home on February 12, 2011. She was born on June 23, 1920, in Ronald, Washington, to John and Josephine (Minerich) Radosevich, both of whom were Croatian immigrants. She grew up in Ronald and attended the Ronald Public School. She was a 1938 graduate of Cle Elum High School.

In 1939 she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Stewart of Roslyn. She and Bill made their home on Alaska Avenue in Roslyn until Bill's death in 2002 and Mildred continued to reside at her long time residence. She loved her home and she was able with the help of her caregivers to remain at home as was her wish.

Mildred worked a short time at McKean's Drive In and at the Tasty In and Out. She was also an election precinct worker in Roslyn for many years. Mildred was primarily a devoted wife and companion to Bill. She even went into the high country deer hunting with her husband and her in laws. She enjoyed traveling with Bill and was able to attend a United Mine Workers of America Convention in Florida. She also enjoyed playing golf for many years.

In addition to her husband, Mildred was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Ann. She is survived by her brother, John, and her caregiver Janelle Nason, Donna Boston and Beth Harkcom.

A funeral mass was held on February 18, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Roslyn with Father Lawrence Reilly officiating. Burial followed at Laurel Hill Memorial Park in Cle Elum. Donations may be made to the organization of your choice.

To John and Millie's caregivers; I was sorry to hear that Millie had passed away. We were golf friends for many years and I enjoyed her company and her laugh as we played golf together. Hilda and Don Woolley
