Myrna Weaver Obituary

Myrna Frances Weaver, a resident of Yakima for more than thirty years, passed away on March 11th at the Parkside Nursing Care Center. Myrna was born on November 27, 1927, in Ellensburg. She was the daughter of John L. and Carrie Mabel (Riegel) Watson, both of Ellensburg. She attended Dysart Rural District #5 School, then attended Morgan Junior and Ellensburg High Schools, graduating in 1945.
Myrna married Robert "Buck" Weaver in 1948, and, after residing in Covina, California for a number of years she and her husband returned to Washington State to purchase a home in Yakima. Following the death of her husband, Robert in 1997, Myrna continued to maintain the Yakima home.
A series of health problems led to Myrna's hospitalization within the last year, and, subsequently to her enrollment in the Nursing Care Center, where she continued until her death.
Myrna was the sixth child of John and Mabel Watson. She was preceded in death by her brother, John, Jr. in 1932 and sister, Mary Ann Gustafson, in 1997. Surviving Myrna are sisters, Martha Jacobsen, Mildred Anderson, Margaret Weaver, Marlene Overton, Mabel Malinosky, Maxine Wyatt and Miriam Watson, and brothers, Joseph and Donald.
A Memorial gathering of family and close friends will be held at the Ellensburg Adult Activity Center, at 507 South Pine, on Saturday, March 26, from 1 to 3 p.m.
It is requested that commemorative gifts be directed to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle.
