Jeanne Giersch Obituary

Jeanne Elizabeth Giersch, 91, of Ellensburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Kittitas Valley Health and Rehab center. Jeanne was born on July 28, 1919 in Spokane, WA, to John Richard and Ora (Kelly) Keyes. Jeanne was the ninth child of the ten children in the family. She married "Dutch" Giersch on October 10, 1939 in Marysville, WA, and together they spent over seventy-one years together. Jeanne was an avid hunter in her earlier years. Jeanne was a longtime member of the Swauk-Teanaway Grange #984 and received the Golden Sheaf Certificate from the National Grange. Jeanne treasured the friendships that she made while being a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. Jeanne was a very caring person that helped many people. She was a caregiver to her mother and brother Billy. She is lovingly survived by her husband "Dutch", several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her four brothers and five sisters.
