Virginia Schmidt Obituary

Virginia "Ginny" Schmidt died peacefully in her daughter's home on May 8, 2011, after a short but valiant battle with inflammatory breast cancer. Ginny was an artist who dabbled in many mediums, but pottery was her true passion. She was an animal lover at heart; her truest companion was her dog, Artais. She was gentle, kind, and generous in nature, giving of herself even when she had little to give. Her warm smile and beautiful spirit will be remembered and missed by all.

Ginny is survived by her daughter, Athena (Cecil) Howard and three grandsons: Cody, Dylan, and Ian, all of Ellensburg, WA; her mother, Nancy Moore, and a sister, Laurie Jones, both of Priest River, ID; a sister Marsha (Justin) Mull of Yakima, WA; a brother, Todd (Tammy) Jones of Priest River, ID; several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends and loved ones.  She is preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Jones.

A simple memorial will be held in Idaho on Saturday, May 21, 2011.
