Iwana Cox Obituary

Iwana C. Cox July 24, 1917 - June 18, 2004 COLUMBUS, GA - Iwana C. Cox, 86, of Columbus, died Friday, June 18 at Heritage Hills Alzheimer Special Care Center. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26 at McMullen Funeral Home with the Rev. Watson McKemie officiating. Visitation will follow the services at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus. Mrs. Cox was born July 24, 1917 in Wedowee, Ala., the daughter of the late Bealah Mitchell Camp and John Will Camp. She was retired from Civil Service as Southeastern Administration Insurance Program Director and was Protestant by faith. Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew A. Cox. Survivors include a son, James Wilkes and wife Jerry of Columbus; three grandchildren, Valerie of LaGrange, Ga., Lisa of Independence, Kan., and John of Smiths, Ala.; and three great grandchildren, Justin Reinacher of Dallas, Texas, David Hershey and Beth Hershey, both of Independence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Georgia, 1214 1st Avenue, Columbus, GA 31901.
